Much has changed at Ramsay since 1972, but these founding principles remain the same. Along with our new name, RAMSAY PHOTO IMAGING, we now offer a broad new spectrum of digital imaging, in addition to full-service photographic processing and printing, on-site Advanced Photo System (APS) processing, certified to the highest industry standard, Fiery computer file transfers to color laser copies, and many other products and services. We accept checks, Visa, Master Card, American Express, Discover, and of course, cash!. Payment is due on delivery unless an open account has been previously established. A deposit is required on non-account or COD orders over $250, and in some cases are required on amounts less than $250.
GENERAL INFORMATION - "STUFF YOU NEED TO KNOW"
Sales tax must be added to all orders, unless we are advised by the customer that the products or services are for resale and we have a valid customer resale card on file. Sorry, no exceptions can be made.
We welcome open accounts to qualifying businesses or individuals. A credit application may be obtained directly from our customer service department, by mail or fax. We will process your application promptly; however, it sometimes takes several days for credit references to respond. Orders are COD until the account is opened. Open accounts will receive a statement on the first of each month. The statement amount is due and payable by the 10th of the month and is overdue if not paid by the end of the month. Accounts over 30 days past due are subject to a finance charge of 1.5% per month, which is equivalent to an annual percentage rate of 18%. Unpaid accounts of 60 or more days overdue may be placed on COD and become subject to collection procedures. The minimum charge for open account billing is $3.50.
RETURNED CHECKS: There will be a $10 administrative fee on all returned checks.
We will be glad to ship any order for a minimum handling & packaging fee of $5.00 plus actual or estimated U.S. mail or shipping charges. Handling and packaging fees on large shipments will be quoted individually. Unless otherwise instructed, all COD orders will be shipped Federal Express or Airborne Express collect.
FREE PICK-UP & DELIVERY
Free pick-up and delivery is available for our open accounts on orders totaling at least $25.00 and for destinations within 20 miles of Orange County Airport. For open account orders totaling less than $25.00, there is a $5.00 charge for pick-up and delivery. On non-account or COD orders, pick-up and delivery is available for an additional $5.00 each way. For destinations beyond the above 20-mile radius, direct delivery charges (messenger, UPS, etc.) will be billed.
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY (PLEASE READ CAREFULLY)
Submitting any film, print, slide or negative to Ramsay Photo Imaging, Inc., for processing, printing or other handling, constitutes an AGREEMENT by you that any damage or loss by Ramsay Photo Imaging, Inc., its subsidiary or agents, even though by our negligence or other fault, will only entitle you to replacement with a like amount of unexposed film and processing. Except for such replacement, the acceptance of film, prints or slides is without other warranty or liability, and recovery for any incidental or consequential damage is excluded. Ramsay Photo Imaging, Inc., does not assume liability, whether lost or damaged by fire, theft or negligence, or any other means, for customer-supplied materials, such as picture frames, swatches, paintings, prints, artwork, color guides or other materials which are submitted with orders. Ramsay Photo Imaging, Inc., does not assume liability for losses due to late production of orders or late deliveries by our representatives or other shipping services. Should you choose to leave materials or prints not produced in our lab for mounting, we cannot assume responsibility for any damage incurred. Ramsay Photo Imaging, Inc., is not responsible for orders or original materials left over 30 days.
There are very strict laws that protect copyrights. It is usually illegal to copy photographs taken by others without their permission. By asking Ramsay Photo Imaging, Inc., to reproduce any copyrighted work, you represent and warrant to Ramsay Photo Imaging, Inc., that you have obtained permission from the owner of the copyright to reproduce, distribute or display such copyrighted work, or that you agree not to sell or use the reproduction in any manner which infringes on copyright laws. For further information and assistance, please ask our customer service representatives.
RAMSAY PHOTO IMAGING reserves the right to refuse service to anyone and to refuse to acceptmaterial that in our opinion will not reproduce according to the customers specifications, or is of questionable subject matter.

SERVICE SCHEDULES AND RUSH CHARGES
Our normal service schedules and rush charges are listed under each service heading in this catalog. Service schedules are based on reasonable quantities. Rush charges are in addition to regular charges. If your time schedule is critical, please contact our customer service department as soon as possible, notifying us of your requirements. Same day service means that orders received by 10:00 a.m. will be out by 5:00 p.m. the same day.
If an order requires more than one step, the service time equals the total of those steps. On pick-up/delivery orders, service time does not start until the job is received at Ramsay Photo Imaging, so please allow transit time in your schedule (4 hours each way is recommended).
AFTER HOURS AND WEEKEND RUSH SERVICES
Work produced outside our normal weekday business hours, Monday through Friday, is charged at $50.00 per man-hour plus unit costs and applicable rush charges. Work produced on weekends and holidays, is charged at a $150.00 open-lab charge plus $50.00 per man-hour, unit costs and applicable rush charges. An estimate of overtime charges will be given at the time of order.
Work already completed at time of cancellation must be charged at full rate.
In the event a remake is necessary, we require that the entire order be returned within one week of receipt of order pick-up, along with the original work order or job envelope and detailed instructions as to what corrections are to be made. Charges for remakes will be made at our discretion with fairness in mind.
On large Custom orders, we must stress the importance of a test (check) print before production. Without a test print, orders are printed on a "best judgment acceptable basis." Production service time begins after the test print has been approved by the customer. Custom test prints on orders of less than 11 prints per negative can be provided at an additional second-print price. There is no test print charge for Custom orders over 20 prints per negative.
On large Machine Print orders, test prints are also highly recommended, and are required on orders of 100 or more. Production time begins after the test print is approved by the customer. Test prints on Machine Print orders of less than 100 prints per negative can be provided at an additional second-print price. There is no test print charge on Machine Print orders of 100 or more prints per negative.
Machine Reprint prices apply to 35mm and 120mm film that is cut into strips and to uncut film not printed at the time of processing. 35mm and 120 negatives cut into single frames require extra time and care when printing; therefore, we must add a 25 cent charge per each single frame (first print only). When the same transparency or negative is submitted at different times for prints, you may find slight variations due to slight differences in print emulsions being used. If you desire as close a match as possible, please bring in a previously-made print as a sample print.
ORDERING INFORMATION - "MORE STUFF YOU NEED TO KNOW"
On volume machine reprints requiring special trimming other than the standard sizes listed under this service, we must add a charge of 25 cents per cut per stack (limit of 100 prints per stack). On individual prints requiring special trimming, please ask for price per cut.
OVER- OR UNDER-EXPOSED FILM, DIRTY/DAMAGED FILM
We cannot accept responsibility for the quality of prints made from poorly exposed, dirty or damaged film or from film that is not in sharp focus. When required, film submitted by customers will be cleaned as carefully as possible. As this is a very delicate operation, we cannot assume responsibility for damage.
COLOR OR DENSITY CORRECTIONS
We color correct all work per our best professional judgment, unless otherwise specified.
If in our opinion a negative, slide or transparency is so damaged or inferior that we cannot make a good quality reproduction from it, then the only way it will be printed is on an agreed-upon "no-remake-without-charge" basis.
CROPPING AND PROPORTIONS
Cropping of a print or transparency will be left to the best judgment of our printers unless otherwise indicated. Specific cropping requirements should be indicated on either a sample print, acetate sleeve or tissue overlay--never directly on the film. Indicate exact cropping with straight lines, and approximate cropping with wavy lines. If you use a sleeve or overlay, be sure to outline some of the image area along with the cropping, in case the film shifts in the overlay.
Be sure that the cropping you have indicated is in proportion to the enlargement size you have ordered. Otherwise, there will be borders on the short dimension of the enlargement. Enlargement sizes that are proportional to the 35mm format are indicated with double asterisks [**] on pages 16-19. If you specify "Full Frame," the full image will be printed on the enlargment and borders will occur on the short dimension of the enlargement, unless you order a size that is proportional to the negative image area. Feel free to ask our Customer Service Reps for help or for the use of a cropping guide.
DODGING AND BURNING IN
The term "Dodging" refers to lightening a specific area within an image. "Burning In" refers to darkening of a specific area within an image. "Dodging" and "Burning In" are available in Custom prints and transparencies only. Unless otherwise instructed, our printers will use their best judgment to produce the best possible print. Areas to be dodged (lightened) should be indicated on an acetate sleeve or overlay with a series of circles. Areas to be burned in (darkened) should be indicated on the sleeve or overlay with a series of lines.
On Custom orders, when the same transparency or negative is submitted at a later time for matching prints, please return them in the negative glassines that we provided in the first order and if possible provide us with a sample print or transparency from the original order. Also, make sure that your order states that an exact match is desired. We will make every effort to match your original print; however, you may detect a slight variation due to different paper or film emulsions.
Unlike retouching, done to alter or improve an image, spotting is done with special dyes on the tip of a brush to cover tiny spots on a print caused by dust during printing. Our services do not cover retouching.
